Bricks of Memory

A great graduation gift

Yearly gifts to Loretto of $1,000 or more are gratefully recognized with a personalized brick in the school plaza. The brick is inscribed according to the wishes of the giver. This is a wonderful way to honor a loved one, or to remember someone special in your life or that of your daughter.

Alumnae bricks are placed permanently on Alumnae Terrace, a raised half-circle just outside the east door of the Mary Ward Library. Many alumnae have enthusiastically received the brick program since its beginning six years ago. There are many bricks in place today, bearing the names of those from the graduating Class of 1958 as well as those most recent graduates from the Class of 2006. There is, however, considerable space remaining for those wishing to participate. It is our hope that every graduating class will be represented, and that public acknowledgement of their generosity and support is displayed for all to see.

Loretto is a tightly woven community today, just as it was in years past. The mission remains the same: to encourage and promote the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, aesthetic and physical well being of each student in the context of the community. Many have benefited from this education over the years and many of you have continued to support Loretto after leaving.

Please consider a brick inscribed with your family name, the name of a loved one, or that of a favorite teacher. A brick in Alumnae Terrace would serve as permanent and public recognition of something or someone who inspired you, who participated in the formation of the person you are today.
